Michael F. Singer

Professional Background

Michael was admitted to the Bar in Indiana in 1980 and has maintained a full-time practice with offices in Danville and Avon since that time. He is well versed in the general practice of law, including both personal and corporate areas. His diversity can be shown by a representative listing of his clients which include the general public (both civil and criminal concerns); banking, dental, medical and other small business’ accounts and collections; probate; and personal injury cases. He has served as Judge-Pro Tem in both Hendricks and Marion counties. In addition he has served as attorney to the Hendricks County Welfare Board, Washington Township Advisory Board, and Washington Township Park Board.

Prior to entering the private practice of law, Michael was employed for approximately 10 years at Public Service of Indiana (now CINERGY) located in Plainfield, Indiana. The management and corporate experience gained through his tenure at PSI aids him in being able to relate to a variety of people and problems.

Michael’s primary office has been located in Avon for 16 of the 25 years he has been in practice. During that time he has developed a primary focus in all areas of criminal law with an emphasis on alcohol and drug offences, including cases involving felonies, misdemeanors, juvenile, post-conviction relief, probation violations, and habitual traffic offences.

 

Military Service
Michael served for three years in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman, and at the time of his honorable discharge had achieved the rank of Sergeant E-5.

Education
Michael’s undergraduate degree is from Indiana University. Upon his return from the army and while he was employed at PSI, he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis.

Accreditations
Michael is fully certified to practice in all counties of Indiana and to represent clients in the Federal Court. He has also taken extensive extra coursework and training in mediation.

Professional Memberships and Affiliations
Michael is a member and past president of the Hendricks County Bar Association, a member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, and a member of Indiana Public Defenders’ Council. He regularly attends professional training and conferences approved by the Indiana State Bar Association to augment his professional knowledge in various areas of practice. He has served as an elected member of the Washington Township Advisory Board and has been a multi-term Precinct Committeeman.
